Don Prosser Landscape DesignerAbout Don Prosser

Don has worked in the landscape industry full time since 1979.  He has been a landscape maintenance and construction foreman.  He has also run a design-build firm for ten years and managed a landscape division for another eight years.

In 2005, he received his Certified Landscape Designer designation and is now one of only sixty across Canada.  An industry certified designer candidate must have at least seven years combined schooling and on the job experience.  He/she has to write a comprehensive four part exam –(Communication/Practice, Plant Material, Grading/Drainage, Construction) with a minimum overall mark of 70%.  Additionally, one must submit a portfolio of three completed projects – including drawings, construction details, pictures, budgets and detailed pricing.  To maintain this designation, you must complete a minimum amount of approved ongoing training and volunteer service every year.

Since 2005, Don has worked exclusively as a landscape designer, consultant and project manager for residential, commercial and institutional clients.  His approach to landscape design rests on three principals – beauty, function and sustainability.
